Mary Ann Rudolph has been instructing riders for over 50 years. She earned certification from the American Riding Institute in 1989, a recognition given only to instructors who teach safely, professionally, and with integrity. She is also an alumnus of the Centered Riding Instructors Program.
At Sunny Brook Farm, Mary Ann’s instruction blends hunt seat, basic dressage, and centered riding techniques. This balanced approach helps create secure, confident partnerships between horse and rider, both on the flat and over fences. Safety and well-being for horses and riders is our top priority.

Sunny Brook Farm has been in continuous operation since 1985. From our beginnings in a neighboring town, we relocated to Newtown, Connecticut in October 2000, allowing the farm to grow and evolve. We are proud to have grown alongside the riders, boarders, horses, and staff who have shaped our community. We look forward to many more years of fostering lifelong connections between people and horses!
Managing the environmental aspects of a horse farm requires constant planning and following proper procedures designed to minimize the impact to the environment. At Sunny Brook Farm, we work hard to follow best practices in horse care and environmental management as defined by Connecticut State organizations. We are proud to hold the Horse Farm of Environmental Distinction certification by the Connecticut Horse Environmental Awareness Program (HEAP), a coalition of agencies and organizations dedicated in educating horse owners on Best Management Practices to protect the environment.
